Here are some pictures of my cat Boris - sitting in the laundry basket on top of the washing machine. Boris is 10 years old and a rescue cat. He was a feisty creature when he was younger but advancing age and general laziness has turned him into a lap cat. If you look carefully of the picture of him on the floor, looking up, you'll see that there's something not quite right with his left eye. About 3 years ago, he had a fight with a neighbour's cat and got a claw in his eye. It took me several weeks, lots of visits to the vet (and lots of money!) and a huge amount of TLC to get him better. At one stage, we thought he might lose his eye, but I worked hard at the treatment and it was saved. I'm not sure how much he can see out of it but he's not blind in that eye, so he had a lucky escape. He's the most vocal cat I ever known - we have long conversations most days. Photo : Liz James |
